Broken Toe

So, I finally decided to go to urgent care on Sunday for my toe. They did some X-rays and found it to be broken. So, now I get to walk around in a stupid post op shoe and they gave me crutches. Fun times!

Yesterday was supposed to be a fun relaxing day hanging out and scrapbooking with friends. I had everyone come over and hang out. We had lots of snacks and of course gossip!

Then, it started to go down hill. First off, I was going to bring the cat upstairs and I managed to trip on the first step. I let go off the poor cat and then I hit my knee and stubbed my left big toe. After a little while I noticed a bruise to my left arm from falling and my big toe was starting to kill me. It was bruising up and swelling. I took some Motrin and put some ice on it and by the end of the night it didn't hurt so bad.

Then after falling up the stairs, my mom noticed Frosty had some hives. So, I went up and got a Benadryl for him and gave him that. After a few minutes I let him in the backyard to go potty. After a few minutes I went to check on him and I noticed that my back gate had been opened and I didn't see Frosty. So, I ran in the house and screamed to my mom he's gone, the gates open. Immediately everyone went running outside to look for him. My mom got in her car and Faye got in her car to try to look for him and I went running around the block. At one point Sonia came out and said this lady called and she has him by her house. Then, Sonia drove me over to this lady's house. Of course the dog was on the backside of the house by the walking path. So, I had to run down the path and find which house was hers. She had him on a leash attached to her fence so he couldn't get away. Thank God for this lady who stopped to help him. I owe her big time!

That was the exciting day I had yesterday. Way to much excitement for one person to handle!

Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit

Yesterday I went with my mother in law Judy to see the Dead Sea Scrolls at Azusa Pacific University. It was really interesting to see. The only thing is the actual scrolls were super small. But, it was interesting to see some of the old bibles, like the original 1611 King James Bible. We then walked around the university bookstore. After that Judy came with me to the theology library to help me get information for my paper. Then we headed to a yummy dinner at Alfredo's in San Bernardino.

This (above) is the fragment of the dead sea scroll. Super small.

Day 7 in Chicago

This was our last full day in Chicago. We all went to the Museum of Science and Industry. It was a lot of fun. There was a lot of hands on exhibits and a whole portion on the body which was fun to see.

Later that night Brayton and I went with Aunt Mary, Uncle Richie and Nicole to the Willis Tower to go up to the skydeck. We took an elevator ride up to the 103rd floor. We saw some amazing views of the city. Then we were able to walk out on a clear deck to have a full view of the city even under your feet. It was amazing. Brayton took one step out and got a bit nervous. Nicole didn't want to go out either but we got her out a little at least for some pictures.

That's a pig brain!
Brayton and I dissected cows eyes at the museum.

Day 6 in Chicago-My 29th Birthday!

July 1, 2010, my 29th birthday. We all went to Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs take on the Reds. Brayton had put my birthday up on the scoreboard at the field. It was really neat, I was completely shocked. We then went to a great local Italian resteraunt Voltare for dinner. It was a great birthday!

Day 5 in Chicago

This was June 30, opening day of the Twilight Saga: Eclipse. So, we all went and saw the movie at the IMAX theatre. The movie was great. Then we went to lunch at Harry Carray's again. Then Brayton and I went off on a double decker tour around downtown and then around Chinatown and Little Italy.

Day 4 Chicago

We were now joined by Aunt Mary, Uncle Richie and Nicole. We started off our day with a bus ride to Field's Museum where we spent the first half of our day. They have the dinosaur Sue which was in the movie Night at the Museum. We saw all kinds of mummies and dinosaurs.

Day 3 to Wisconsin

This day we took a road trip up to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Needless to say I was not impressed. Our first stop was at the Jelly Belly factory where took a train tour around the factory and then of course ended up in the gift shop. Where Brayton and I managed to fill a $20 bag of jelly beans.

We then headed over to Miller Field where the Brewers play and took a tour of the stadium. Rob, Brayton and I went down onto the field, into the dugout, the bullpen, and the behind the scene stands. It was really neat to be that close to the field.

Then we headed off to the Miller Brewery. Again we did a tour around the brewery and then had our samples of Miller beer. We then headed off to a cheese store and ate some cheese curds and had some grilled cheeses and hot dogs for lunch. Had to be the slowest service possible! :-)

We hoped out of the car to grab the picture
